MZAZA Workshop

MZAZA Workshop

World music six-piece MZAZA invite you to one of their free music workshops during New Annual.

Singers and instrumentalists of all ages are invited to learn a Shepardic wedding song based on a popular Turkish melody in two fun workshops. Participants of all skill levels are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants in the workshops are invited to perform a song with the band at MZAZA's New Annual show, The Birth and Death of Stars

World Music Song Workshop
Born in France and of Sephardic heritage, the award-winning lead singer of MZAZA, Pauline Maudy, will facilitate an uplifting vocal workshop for beginners and experienced singers aimed at sharing technique and getting you singing in harmony quickly. She is joined by accordionist and choir leader Ricardo Bona and double bassist Gwenny Warnick.

World Music Instrumental Workshop
John Robertson (on nylon string guitar/uke), Greta Kelly on a variety of fiddles, and Tsoof Baras (percussion) will teach you a Sephardic folk song in a relaxed workshop that demonstrates some of the unusual rhythms and ornaments of modal music. Bring your fiddle, guitar, ukulele, accordion, harmonica, hand percussion or any other instrument. We provide sheet music, tabs and also cater to those who prefer to learn by ear.
