Experience the art of Angela Tiatia's Muse from a different perspective with two immersive school holiday workshop programs.
WEEK ONE | STOP MOTION ANIMATION
Clam, Camera, Action! School Holiday Workshop
Dive into an underwater world of movement, storytelling and imagination. Inspired by Angela Tiatia's video work The Pearl, this hands-on workshop invites children aged 5–12 to create their own short stop motion film inspired by the mysteries and beauty of the ocean.
Using simple stop motion techniques, participants will experiment with character creation, sequencing and visual storytelling while bringing their ideas to life frame by frame.
Guided step-by-step by our experienced art educators, this workshop encourages creativity, curiosity and confidence in a fun, supportive environment. Each child will leave with their own stop motion animation and a deeper connection to contemporary art and digital storytelling. Note: Parent will be sent the finished work via Dropbox or airdrop to their mobile.
Ticket price includes entry to Angela Tiatia: Muse, access to stop motion technology and all artmaking materials.
Parents that wish to take part in the tour of the exhibition can purchase a discounted ticket.
WEEK TWO | STORYTELLING & T-SHIRT CRAFT
Kit Creators School Holiday Workshop
Step into a world of self-expression and teamwork in this hands-on workshop inspired by Angela Tiatia's moving image work The Matildas on tour from the National Portrait Gallery.
Designed for children aged 5–12, this workshop invites children to explore what makes them unique while celebrating the power of belonging to a team.
Using a plain shirt as their creative canvas, children will design and create their own wearable artwork featuring colours, patterns, symbols and images that tell their personal story.
Each child will leave with their own personalised jersey and a deeper connection to contemporary art, storytelling and the idea that everyone has a story worth wearing.

RECOMMENDED AGE
Workshops suitable for primary school age children. Children must be signed in by an accompanying adult. Adults are required to stay onsite for the duration of the workshop but are welcome to relax in the Café or browse the Gallery Shop.
