No art skills? No problem! Join Newcastle artist Jen Denzin and Joanne Back for Bad Art Party—a wild, hands-on craft session where the rules are thrown out and glitter reigns supreme.
Guided by Jen and Jo’s love of kitsch and colour, you’ll create offbeat accessories, strange sculptures, or wearable art using an explosion of everyday materials—think foam, plastic jewels, shiny odds and ends, and more. Whether it’s a delightfully odd brooch or an over-the-top headpiece, your creation will be weird, wonderful, and uniquely you.
Expect music, snacks, drinks, and plenty of creative chaos. All materials supplied. Ticket includes light catering and one complimentary alcoholic beverage. This is an 18+ event.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jen Denzin has exhibited regularly in Newcastle for the past 15 years. She uses commonplace materials such as plastic buckets, drinking straws, cable ties and tacky mementos to construct gaudy assemblages and vibrant environments. Her work is informed by historical meeting points, linguistic and cultural exchange. Jen’s industry experience includes curatorial projects and exhibitions at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Newcastle University, TAFE’s Frontroom Gallery, the M-Arts Precinct in Murwillumbah and The Lock-Up; alongside teaching art to children.
